Vision Statement

Jesus Christ has gathered laity, deacons, priests, and bishop of congregations and diocesan ministries in central and southern Indiana to be the Episcopal Diocese of Indianapolis.

We celebrate the great gift of our Anglican heritage and will deepen our understanding of its tradition and heritage, inviting others to join us.

We welcome all persons into our common life and will proclaim the gospel to those in our communities who do not yet know our Lord.

We will nurture relationships in Christ, remaining in conversation with one another despite honest disagreement, always seeking God's will.

We are thankful for our differences and acknowledge that they enrich and energize our ministries.

We promise compassion, acceptance, and assistance to those in need.

We acknowledge and celebrate the wealth of talent and treasure which has been given and will grow in confidence that working together, we will always have enough to engage in God's mission.

Make a Gift to a Project or Ministry

In 2010, the Diocese of Brasilia, Brazil (our companion diocese) is celebrating 50 years as a diocese for the worldwide Episcopal/Anglican Church. The Diocese of Indianapolis would like to present a monetary gift to Bishop Mauricio in honor of this anniversary. The funds collected will be dedicated to help mission support through Brasilia--- including the AIDS/HIV house in Palmas, Brazil (under construction now) and the S.A.M.E. after-school tutoring program for low income children.

Will you and/or your parish be willing to support our companion church in Brasilia with a donation? The capital campaign Tithe Committee with St. David's, Bean Blossom and the Tri-Parish Coalition (St. David's; St. Paul's, Columbus; Trinity, Bloomington) together have started the ball rolling by donating $700 toward this gift.

For more information, please contact Marylin Day with the St. David's Tithe Committee at 812-988-7130 or mikeandmarylin@gmail.com. Send a check to the diocesan office or donate online through the diocesan web site. Please indicate your donation is for the "50th anniversary---Brasilia". Thank you for your continuing support of the Millennium Development Goals and our companion dioceses.

Theologians and Robins Say the Darndest Things –a Spring Retreat for Everyone at Waycross March 19 – 21

All are invited to the Diocesan-Wide Lay Retreat for individuals and families looking for a mix of high energy fun, challenging thoughts, and peaceful relaxation. Everyone can enjoy favorite Waycross activities like adventuring through the Gollywop forest, hunting for geodes, warming up by a toasty campfire and singing camp songs. The more adventurous will enjoy a mountain biking excursion and an adrenaline pumping trip down the zip lines. For a somewhat quieter but no less challenging experience, the Very Rev. Robert Giannini will offer talks and lead conversations on “Leadership, Post-Modernism, World Religions and Ecclesiology.” If you read his blog on the diocesan website, you can get a sense of the fun he will bring to his talks (did he really mention Britney Spears?…yes he did!).
